Presenter(s)

Jennifer Cowns, H-1B Performance Lead, Safal Partners

Dani Abdullah, Workforce Development Specialist, Division of Strategic Investments, U.S. Department of Labor, Employment and Training Administration

Performance Reporting Orientation 201 will take a deep dive into the data elements in the H-1B Participant Individual Record Layout (PIRL), specifically how the DOL Nursing Expansion Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) affects what participant data can be reported in key data elements and when.

The purpose of Webinar 201 is to:

  • Provide guidance on how to report that a participant has received services and/or training funded by the grant.
  • Clarify the definitions of data elements that provide information on key training milestones, such as program completion and entering or advancing in employment.
  • Explain the important of correctly identifying a participant’s employment status at entry for reporting accurately.
  • Demonstrate why understanding the logic rules in the PIRL helps avoid reporting errors that need correction.
  • Walk through how to use the H-1B Grants Performance Reporting & Workforce Integrated Performance System (WIPS) Guidance Handbook (linked below) to understand the data elements and resolve reporting errors.
  • Review the performance reporting guidance for the quarters ending March 31, 2024 and June 30, 2024.

As a reminder, the DOL Nursing Expansion Performance Reporting Resources page includes several policy and technical assistance resources to help you as you collect your performance data and use WIPS.
