Much of the content was centered on introducing grantees to the Participant Support Lifecycle which aims to help Nursing Expansion grantees gain a comprehensive understanding of their participants’ journeys.
The Nursing Expansion Institute was held over the course of three days. Below are the slide decks from the second day of presentations and any handouts provided during the sessions.
Day 2
- Session 1 Welcome to Day 2: Learn about the objectives for Day 2 of the Nursing Expansion Institute and a brief recap of Day 1.
- Session 2 From Outreach and Recruitment to Enrollment: Learn about resources and strategies aligned with the participant lifecycle for reaching and enrolling target populations.
- Session 3 Supporting Student Retention and Success: Discuss participant learning pathways in training and education programs, with a focus on potential participant lifecycle loss points and momentum strategies to counteract them.
- Session 4 Participant Completion and Certification Strategies: Gain clarity on what counts as a credential in the Nursing Expansion grant program and learn about what steps grantees should take and when to help participants obtain a credential upon course completion.
- Session 5 Placement Strategies: Discuss promising strategies and supports that help participants obtain employment, as well as potential roadblocks and untapped opportunities.
- Session 6 Effective Partnership Strategies: Explore the reasons for developing partnerships and the components of mutually beneficial partnerships.
- Session 7 Sustainability: Sustainability planning is important for the success of every grant. The ability to assess a project on progression towards grant goals, identify practices that have led to successful outcomes, and know what practices were not successful are important for the project's future beyond the grant period.
- Session 8 Coach Meet and Greet: This session provided an informal opportunity for you to check in with your coaches.
